The Lionhead Milo Project.
by Hellreject on Jun.02, 2009, under Awesomeness, Console
This might be one of the single coolest things I have seen presented at E3 ever, and I’m really excited about this project.
Peter Molyneux has been working on a little something something to work with Microsoft’s new motion controller. This appears to be an advanced artificial intelligence, Milo, with whom you can interact in many different ways.
I don’t think anything I write here is going to justify the awesomeness of this, so just watch the video. It’s stunning.
Metal Gear coming to the Xbox 360!
by Hellreject on Jun.02, 2009, under Awesomeness, Console, Games

Yep, it’s true. Kojima announced today during Microsoft’s keynote that a completely new title in the Metal Gear franchise will come to the Xbox 360.
The game is called Metal Gear Solid Rising, and will feature Raiden instead of Solid Snake.
Kojima did not mention anything about it being an exclusive however, he just said it was “in development” for the Xbox 360.
In any case, this is what I call big news. Expect a lot of hype to surround this game before it’s release.
Microsoft will be offering Games on Demand this August.
by Hellreject on Jun.02, 2009, under Awesomeness, Console

Another big announcement from Microsoft this year, is that they will be offering games on demand via Xbox Live Marketplace. And the best thing? Microsoft points not required!
According to Mark Whitten, Xbox 360 users will be able to download full games to their consoles this August. New games will be availible each week, and you can pay directly by credit card. No info on pricing or when the download games will be availible compared to retail releases.
Facebook and Twitter coming to the Xbox 360.
by Hellreject on Jun.02, 2009, under Awesomeness, Console
Microsoft had a lot to show at this year’s E3 press conferance, and this is one of the things they announced.
A lot of what you can do with Facebook in a regular internet browser will be availible to you via the Xbox 360: update your status, post messages, check e-mail, manage photos and so on. The New Xbox Experience interface will also have a role to play, with avatar integration in your profile and more. Expect most of the Facebook functionality to work on the Xbox 360, excluding installing new applications.
The best feature, however, is the ability to upload screen shots from the game you are playing onto your Facebook profile. This might not work with older titles, unless it can be implemented via a software update, but newer titles will have this ability. The first game to come with the ability is Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10. Now, ask yourself if you care about that game at all.
Twitter looks much like the Web interface, with nothing really new added to it. You can update your status and your favourites via the dashboard.
Last.fm has also been announced for the Xbox 360, although very little information is availible at the moment.
Is this the new Project ICO trailer?
by Hellreject on May.20, 2009, under Awesomeness, Console, Games
Not very long ago, a trailer claiming to be footage from the new game by Team ICO, the developers that bought us ICO and Shadow of the Colossus, surfaced on the internet. And this just a few weeks before the game was supposed to be shown at this years E3.
I won’t be spoiling the contents of the trailer here for you, although you should know the contents looks very ICO’ish. It has a lot of elements from the previous games, the game mechanics looks like it could fit with the other games, and a certain someone is shown who looks a lot like the hero from ICO.
In any case, just watch it. Fake or not, it looks damn sweet, and I’m very excited to see if the actual game will show on E3 this year.
Next Fallout 3 expansion dated.
by Hellreject on Apr.23, 2009, under Console, Games, PC

Bethesda have been working hard on Fallout 3 ever since release, both making sure to get it patched and releasing new content. So far, two expansions have been released; Operation: Anchorage and The Pitt, and now they’re announcing the third expansion.
Broken Steel is the name of the new expansion, and it’s set to be released May 5th. And just like the two earlier expansions, it’s only availible via online purchase, both on the PC and the Xbox 360.
While the two earlier expansions mainly added new areas and side missions, Broken Steel is a continuation of the main story in Fallout 3. It’s set to begin just after the original game ended, and will let you explore both new and old areas, while trying to rid the world of the last of Eden’s army. They’re also increasing the level cap to 30, and there are more skills to train and new enemies to defeat. New weapons have also been added, both including a flame thrower and a lightning gun.
The expansion will be priced at 800 Microsoft points, the same as the earlier expansions. So if you’re into Fallout 3, you should definitively get this.
New Alien vs. Predator game info surfacing.
by Hellreject on Apr.23, 2009, under Console, Games, PC
It’s been a while since the last time a good AvP game was developed. Well, now it seems that tides are turning.
Rebellion (yes, the ones that developed the original title) have been working on a new Alien Vs Predator title for some time now, but nothing has been known about the title, other than it’s supposedly going to be released in 2010. Lately however, some information has begun showing up in European gamer magazines, and although it’s mostly in screen shot form, some information has been released.
The game is set 30 years after the first Aliens movie, on a planet with a bad case of xenomorph infestation.Just like in the old title, each race will have it’s own single player campain (three in total), and it has been said it will be featuring multiplayer, although there’s not much known about this mode yet.
Nothing is really known about which platforms it is going to be released on, but most of the screen shots out there come from a Playstation magazine, so I guess it’s confirmed it’s being released on the PS3. It’s not much, but at least it’s enough to keep me interested.
Brütal Legend release date confirmed.
by Hellreject on Apr.21, 2009, under Awesomeness, Console, Games

Tim Schafer’s newest project is finally closing in. Electronic Arts announced this morning that Brütal Legend will be released in the North America on October 13th, with us Europeans getting the game 3 days later, on October 16h.
The game – under development by Double Fine Studios, starring Jack Black – is an open world action adventure game. The story will follow Eddie Riggs, who is the world’s best roadie for the world’s worst heavy metal band.
Tim Schafer’s earlier work includes designing Grim Fandango, Psychonauts and Full Throttle, as well as writing the script for the first two Monkey Island games. So if you ever enjoyed any of LucasArt’s earlier work, you should be looking forward to the release of this game.
inFamous finally finished, might even make promised release date.
by Hellreject on Apr.20, 2009, under Console, Games

Word has it that inFamous is done now, and will be ready for the announced May 29th release date. A playable demo of the game is expected to be released about a week before the actual game comes out, so check your PSN around May 20th.
The game, developed by Sucker Punch Productions (behind the Sly Cooper games amongst others), is an open world sandbox game, much like the Grand Theft Auto series. As far as the story goes, it seems quite interesting.
An explosion hits Empire City and completely destroys an area covering about six blocks. The main protagonist, Cole, barely survives, and starts developing weird super powers – mainly the use of electricity.
According to the developers, the game will let you experience being a superhero gradually developing his supoer powers, and using these powers to help Empire City after the explosion.
To be honest, it seems quite interesting, and I am looking forward to trying this game out.
